Description

Join the Georgia Conservancy, Satilla Riverkeeper, Georgia Canoeing Association, Three Rivers Outdoors, and SouthEast Adventure Outfitters for a weekend paddle on one of the most beautiful blackwater rivers in Georgia - the majestic Satilla.

The Satilla River is a delightful blackwater stream that arises on the coastal plain. Its waters are clear and dark, and much of the riverbed is clean white sand. The Satilla originates in Ben Hill and Coffee counties at an elevation of only 350 feet, and it flows gently east for about 260 miles before emptying into St. Andrews Sound.

On Saturday, we will be paddling a beautiful 10-mile section of river between Burnt Fort Ramp, just above GA Hwy. 252, and the take out near the Satilla Lodge - one of the finest private properties on the Satilla River!

On Sunday we will continue our exploration of the Satilla in-and-around the Woodbine area wrapping up a beautiful weekend on the river.

In-Kind donors and local food producers we will be enjoying on our weekend on the Satilla: Sweetwater Brewing Company, Sapelo Sea Farms, ASW Distillery and Cafe Campesino Coffee
